According to comedian Dane Cook, women like to play what he refers to as "the challenge game," with our partners. The challenge game begins with a woman saying, "What would you do if..." and then we fill in the blanks with some absurd statement like "I took all of your baseball cards and sold them on ebay in order to buy new high heels?"
Oh Dane Cook. That might be one version of "the challenge game" but it definitely isn't the only version. In the Nuss household, "the challenge game" goes a little bit like this...
Kayla- "Do you think I should wear this dress?" (I really don't want his opinion...I'm challenging him).
Hubby- "If you don't want to wear that dress, then don't wear it." (Deflection of my challenge).
Kayla- "Are you saying this looks bad on me?" (I turn up the heat...let's see what happens).
Hubby- "Uh...(stutter stutter, sweat, wipe brow)...no babe, I think the dress looks fine but if you want to wear something else, then wear something else" (A noble attempt).
Kayla- "FINE?? You think I look FINE? " (Going for the win)
Hubby- "No, I mean, you look hot, great, good, perfect...??" (Thinks he's out of the woods).
Kayla- "Well, I don't want to wear this. Wait for me while I change." (I win!)
Hubby- *turns on ESPN, opens beer, pets dog, licks his wounds, waits for it to begin again*
